Coming Home to a Heart

I’ve been away for quite a long time

Big coincidence gets me here, along with choices I made

Many experience and learning : faith, commitment, forgiveness, and finally love

Many things have happened, some things have changed

I’ve discovered enough to retrieve

The fantasy I chased is in no way better, since I’d got the finest

Lust is never love

The pathway is at a standstill, and so I want to come home

I long for former comfort I always caressed

A handful of sincere and unconditional love in my hand

A place I’ve been leaving

A genuine heart I’ve been missing

The only one who takes me the way I am

I miss the freedom to be myself when I’m with you

Knowing I’m secure because you’ll always care

Knowing I’m special because you love me the same through the years

No place is as cozy as your heart

I’ll (we’ll) take care of these well

A settled love I’ve (we’ve) long felt

A very good poem. It covers a lot, including how the feelings of ones heart is dependent on what it is exposed to. I enjoyed reading it and commend you for including it in your blog.
